Originally this project has been setup for a friend, artist who is very motivated by the facebook virality and success about its creations. The idea was to let him have a look at its Facebook page "likes" in his kitchen, without disturbing attention. 

I also was curious about the ability to create a fast-mounting splitflap  with low cost in mind. (the existing ones were very expensive).

Far from perfect, it's started to be fun to mount some units and connect them on the web. All the elements are provided (3D models, software), if others want to improve and build their own.
